Niall McKenna's Ultimate Burger recipe
Classic BBQ Ham Burger
Serves 4
- 4 pork loin chops, minced or finely diced
- (keep fat from chops to side)
- 100ml bbq sauce
- olive oil
- Pinch of herbes de provence
- 4 buns
- 4 slices cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 2 leaves iceberg lettuce, washed
- 1 large gherkin, sliced
For the burgers place the minced pork with the BBQ sauce in a bowl and cover with cling film and place in fridge overnight. When ready to use remove the minced pork and squeeze out excess liquid, make into a burger shape pattie. Heat the olive oil in a pan and once hot seal the burgers on both sides and add the herbs. Place the burgers in a roasting tray and place in oven for 10 minutes at 170C. At about 8 minutes add the sliced cheese on top of the burger to melt.
Slice the burger buns and add a dash of the BBQ marinade, add the lettuce, top with the burger and cheese and add the sliced gherkin and the tomato, top with the burger bun and serve.
